Charles D. Livingston, MD. FACS

Charles D. Livingston is a Texas native who graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honors in 1976. He then graduated from Baylor College of Medicine with Honors in 1979.

While at Baylor, Dr. Livingston was selected for membership in AOA, the Honor Medical Society. After completing his internship at The Texas Medical Center in Houston, Dr. Livingston served two years in the National Health Service Corps in a medically underserved rural area. Following this, he completed his residency training in General Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1984. He has authored a book chapter in the surgical textbook, Surgical Therapy, and published numerous articles in the surgical literature on topics concerning laparoscopic surgery, hiatal hernia surgery, and parathyroid surgery including Minimally-Invasive Radio-Guided Parathyroidectomy.  He has presented scientific research papers at The American College of Surgeons, The Society of University Surgeons, The Southwestern Surgical Congress, and The Texas Surgical Society.

He is a member of The Texas Medical Association, The Texas Surgical Society and The American College of Surgeons. He is Board Certified by The American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been recognized as one of Austin's best doctors by Austin Magazine and a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine. His practice is in the specialty of General Surgery at Seton Medical Center Austin where he served as Chief of General Surgery from 1996-1998 and Chief of Surgery from 1998-2002. His areas of expertise include Laparoscopic surgery, Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery, Breast Surgery, Colon Surgery and Surgical Oncology.

He and his wife, Georgia, have three children. He is a member of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church and enjoys all outdoor activities.
