Robert Askew, Jr. MD. FACS

Robert E. Askew, Jr. was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up in Austin, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1982 from the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1986. After completing his internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, he joined his father in medical practice in Austin.

Dr. Askew is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Austin Surgical Society, the Texas Surgical Society, the  American Society of Breast Cancer and the Travis County Medical Society.  He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He served as Chief of General Surgery at Seton Medical Center from January 1, 2002, until December 31, 2005.

Listed in Who's Who of American Physicians and elected as one of Austin's "Best Doctors" by Austin Magazine, Dr. Askew enjoys carrying on his family's tradition of compassionate surgical care. He and his wife, Lori, have two children. Dr. Askew enjoys sailing, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
