- We ask that all patients with a fever, cough, recent contact with a COVID-19 patient, or concerns that they have coronavirus not come to the office. Please call 512-467-7151 prior to coming into the office for further instructions.
- We ask that all patients coming into the office fill out our COVID-19 screening form on the patient portal prior to arrival. If you’re are unable to do so online, you will be asked to do so on arrival.
- Currently our offices are operating normally and seeing patients in person in the office. We offer virtual telemedicine visits upon request. While some patients need to be examined and seen in person, we find telemedicine helpful for post-operative patients without concerns, high risk individuals and those who may have to travel far distances in order to be seen.
- While conditions continue to change, we are currently performing elective outpatient surgeries as normal at the hospitals and the ambulatory surgery centers. Surgeries requiring inpatient admission are performed on a case by case basis depending on the urgency of the disease process and the time required to recover while in the hospital.
- As always, we will continue to provide surgical care for urgent and emergent issues, and for emergency room and hospital consultations.

- It is inappropriate to perform elective, or non-urgent, surgery at this time. Only emergent or life threatening surgery is performed at this time nationwide.
- We ask that post-operative patients who are doing well, without complaints or concerns, delay your in-person visit. Your surgeon will contact via phone to check on your progress, and your appointment can be rescheduled. If you have any issues which may require an in-person visit, an appointment will be available in our office.
- It is possible that soon we will not be able to schedule elective (non-urgent) surgeries, based on guidance from area hospitals and surgery centers. If you have already scheduled surgery, our office will contact you if it must be rescheduled.
- If you are concerned that rescheduling or delaying elective surgery may impact your health, please call our office and your surgeon will discuss this with you.
- If you are anticipating a new patient visit or a follow up visit for a non-urgent issue, please call our office for guidance.

Austin Surgeons
Austin surgeons was first established in 1997 by the joining of two groups of private surgeons. For over the past two decades, we have strived to provide the best surgical care in Austin, TX and surrounding communities. There’s a reason patients drive from all over Texas to see us. There is a rich history of progressing the field of surgery at Austin Surgeons. We were the first in the region to pioneer many surgical techniques including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer, and robotic surgery. We continue to grow and evolve in our surgical practice, innovating and implementing new surgical techniques to improve and track patient outcomes.
The field of medicine is changing at a rapid pace. More and more surgeons and surgical groups are joining and controlled by those not involved in the care of patients. This corporatizing of medicine may potentially lead to care and decisions that may not have the patient’s best interest in mind. Our strength lies in our independence and our ability to provide the best care for our patients regardless of outside influences.
Considering an impending surgery can be a stressful time for patients emotionally, financially and psychologically. Our experienced surgeons will guide you through the difficult decision making leading up to your surgery. Our caring staff will help you navigate the complexities of medical insurance including assuring preauthorization of your surgery.
